Who Provides the Services?

All services are centrally administered through the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Connecticut, Inc.

It is the philosophy of Hospice of Central Connecticut to work collaboratively with the patient's primary physician, the patient and the family to achieve optimum physical, emotional and spiritual comfort.

The hospice team includes physicians, hospice nurses, social workers, clergy, home health aides, and volunteers. Counseling, physical therapy and other supportive services are available as needed.

Hospice of Central Connecticut is certified by Medicare to provide service under the Hospice Medicare Benefit. In addition, hospice care is eligible for reimbursement by the traditional Medicare system and most major insurance companies. To the extent that agency resources are available, service is provided at partial fee or no charge for those without insurance and unable to pay. The Friends of Hospice Fund, made possible through tax deductible individual, organizational, and corporate donations, provides patient care supplies and services which might otherwise be unavailable.
